Regent’s Canal—The Way Forward

A series of simplified maps of Regent’s Canal, with all extraneous information removed. While each area and building are not to scale, it allows the reader to determine their location and destination through the relative position of recognisable buildings, green spaces and amenities.

Drawing inspiration from both the industrial history of the canal, and the vibrant narrowboats and green spaces that now adorn it, the maps are designed to provide a flexible, cohesive and consistent visual identity for the canal, and to be easily read and understood. They are aimed at everyone using the public towpaths or visiting locations along the way, but especially those who were not blessed with any sense of direction.
